In Loving Memory of
Christina Gendreau
1972 - 2017

It is with a heavy heart that we share that one of our very own, Christina Gendreau, Human Resources Analyst for the City of Pacifica, suddenly passed away on November 5, 2017.  Christina was a well-respected colleague in public sector HR who joined the City of Pacifica in August 2016, and prior to that, Christina served for nearly 13 years as a Human Resources Technician at the City of Newark.

Christina was well known for her work ethic.  She was extremely productive, knowledgeable, and simply "got things done."  She was the glue that held things together wherever she worked, and will be missed by her former co-workers at Newark and Pacifica.  She was also known for her volunteerism, as she was involved in her local community, including serving as a volunteer at Ardenwood Farm.

In a professional setting, Christina was a leader in the field of public sector HR.  In recognition of her exceptional leadership and growth potential, Christina was selected to participate in NCCIPMA-HR's inaugural Emerging Leaders Retreat at Harris Ranch in October 2017, where she participated in a first-of-its-kind leadership development program in the nation intended to develop public sector Chief Human Resources Officers of the future.

A memorial gathering is being held for Christina on Friday, November 10, 2017 between noon and 4 pm at Swiss Park, 5911 Mowry Avenue, Newark, CA 94560. Donations may be made in honor of Christina to the League of Volunteers in Newark (through its website at or by phone at (510) 793-5683).

The NCCIPMA-HR Board extends our deepest sympathy and condolences to the friends and families of Christina, and we hope you find comfort in knowing that Christina has touched many lives, and that her legacy will live on in all of us that she has inspired.
