This workshop provides an overview of public sector recruitment development and strategies, the Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures, job analysis, testing methods, basic statistics, validation techniques, examination planning and implementation, and equal employment opportunities (including affirmative action, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) and Executive Order 11246 requirements, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974) are addressed in this practical hands-on workshop. This workshop is particularly helpful for recruitment staff in a civil service or school district merit system agency, and provides detailed explanation on the importance of exam development and validation.

The registration fee covers all course materials and instructions. Breakfast and lunch are not covered in the registration fee (lunch break is provided daily). Overnight lodging, transportation/parking or certification fee are not included. Limited spaces available; please register one week prior to the start of the class to ensure availability.

Member discount is available to members of the Northern California, Central California, and Sacramento Mother Lode chapters (see "member price" above).

Full payment must be received prior to the start of the program. NCCIPMA-HR does not provide refunds for training/event cancellations, but registrations are transferable to another attendee for the same program provided the substitute attendee has the same membership status. All requests for transfer of registration fees must be made in writing at least three business days prior to the start of the program. If you cancel your registration without providing a substitute by the deadline as described above, you will forfeit your registration fees. No-shows are non-refundable. Current IPMA-HR Certified Professionals (IPMA-CP) and IPMA-HR Senior Certified Professionals (IPMA-SCP) may earn three (3) points of re-certification credits.


NCCIPMA-HR is a SHRM Recertification Provider. This program is valid for seven (7) PDCs toward SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP recertification.

Completion of the following California-Specific HR Institute classes satisfies the professional training requirements for the CalGovHR™ Certified Professional (CGHR-CP) designation, and serves as a building block to the CalGovHR™ Senior Certified Professional (CGHR-SCP) designation.
